Seeking Host Families for International Students
We are reaching out to see if any members of our school district community would be interested in becoming host families for international students for the upcoming school year.
Our students come from a variety of countries, primarily across Europe and Central and South America. They are always eager to experience Canadian culture, improve their English, and become part of a local family environment during their stay.
We are looking for individuals or families who are willing to open their homes and include students as part of their daily lives. This includes sharing meals, providing a supportive, caring and welcoming environment, and involving them in regular family activities—such as outings, sports, and social events. Transportation to and from sports and activities may also be required.
We offer placements of varying lengths to suit different preferences, including short-term stays of 3-4 months, as well as 5 and 10-month programs. Hosting can be a flexible and rewarding way to connect with students from around the world.
If you are interested or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to Jodi Hickey – jhickey@prn.bc.ca
