After broad stakeholder engagement, the Board of School District 60 Peace River North is pleased to announce that Assistant Superintendent Wade Hart has been hired as the new superintendent, effective July 1st, 2026.  This follows the retirement announcement of current superintendent Stephen Petrucci.

Originally from Nova Scotia, Mr Hart has twenty-nine years of experience in SD60 schools, teaching Math, Science, and Physical Education before stepping into a Vice-Principal role at NPSS and then as Principal at Bert Bowes Middle School.  More recently, he joined the senior educational team as Director of Instruction for six years before moving into the Assistant Superintendent role last year.

“The Board of Education is pleased to welcome Mr. Hart to his new role. Given his extensive background in school and district leadership, coupled with his dedicated stewardship of Human Resources, we are entirely confident in his ability to serve the evolving needs of our students and staff.”
