Reporting Policy Changes series – Why is my child not getting letter grades?

Starting in the 2023-2024 school year the provincial reporting policy is changing. Report cards continue with a new name as Learning Updates. Read on for more information.

Over the next weeks we will be sharing specific parent information that helps to explain  the changes. If you like to read ahead, all of the information and parent documents are available at https://www.prn.bc.ca/board/k-12-reporting-policy-framework-2023-2024/

This week we are sharing a document that can help answer the question – Why is my child not getting letter grades?

In 2023-2024 we change from five different reporting scales in K-12 to two. In K-9 we will use a four point proficiency scale instead of the current four different scales (Kindergarten, Primary, 4-9 letter grades, K-9 proficiency). In grades 10-12 we continue with percentages and letter grades similar to before.
