With the recent adoption on January 13, 2020 of the new catchment areas for elementary schools in Fort St John our school locator tool has been updated and the following catchment area statements regarding potential changes to a student’s school have been developed. Letters will also be going home in the coming weeks.
- Students that fall within Anne Roberts Young catchment will attend Anne Roberts Young.
- Current students that were in Robert Ogilvie catchment and now fall within Alwin Holland catchment have the choice of Alwin Holland or Robert Ogilvie. Parents must indicate preference to their current school by March 13, 2020. If no preference is indicated by the deadline the next school will be Alwin Holland.
- Current students that were in Duncan Cran catchment and now fall within Robert Ogilvie catchment have the choice of Duncan Cran or Robert Ogilvie. Parents must indicate preference to their current school by March 13, 2020. If no preference is indicated by the deadline the next school will be Duncan Cran.
- Current students that were in the Margaret Ma Murray catchment and now fall within Alwin Holland catchment have the choice of Alwin Holland or Margaret Ma Murray. Parents must indicate preference to their current school by March 13, 2020. If no preference is indicated by the deadline the next school will be Alwin Holland.
- No new school variances will be granted to Margaret Ma Murray. As per current variance practice, past variances will be rolled up but continue to depend on the available space.
- No school variances out of Anne Roberts Young will be granted. (2020-2021 only)
- An early variance process Into Anne Roberts Young will be available to any SD60 students. Parents interested must submit an application to the School Board Office by March 13, 2020. Approval will be granted in April considering available seats and composition. (No longer available)
Any new Kindergarten registration or new to district registration is to be done at the home catchment school based on your address.
