Upper Pine is a K-8 school located at beautiful Rose Prairie, minutes north of the bustling Peace River city of Fort St. John. We enroll 230 students, 30% of whom are First Nations, and a further 20% are English as a second language. We have 12 teachers and 20 support staff, as well as a principal, Reading Recovery teacher and a part time teacher-librarian. Our school enjoys itinerant access to a range of services including counselling and ESL. Our facility is very attractive and welcoming to children and parents alike.

At Upper Pine we are committed to child-centered learning, collaborative planning, and EBS school-wide discipline. Our parent community is highly supportive of school initiatives like playground improvements, school safety and community-school learning partnerships. The Upper Pine Parent Advisory Committee is an integral partner in student learning at our school. This year Upper Pine will focus on developing our students’ literacy, numeracy, and social responsibility skills. Some exciting dimensions of our school are wide access to I-book computer technology in the classroom and a top level sports program that includes a full-sized gymnasium, ice rink, tennis court and baseball diamonds.
