  1. Venus was named after the Roman goddess Venus/ Aphrodite: the Goddess of love and beauty.
    It shines brightest next to the moon.
    It is the second planet from the sun.
    It orbits Earth very 224.7 earth days.
    It is sometimes called Earth’s sister planet due to gravity, and similar size.
    Venus, is a terrestrial planet so, like Earth, the surface is quite rocky.
    Venus traps the sun’s heat in it because the carbon dioxide works like a blanket.
    The mass of atmosphere of Venus is 96.5% carbon dioxide and the other 3.5 percent most likely being nitrogen.
    Venera 1 was the first planetary probe launched by the USSR. It attempted a Venus flyby but lost contact.
    The symbol is the female symbol.
