Reporting to the Principal of Technology, the successful candidate
will be responsible for large-scale Active Directory design,
configuration, deployment, management, and Windows support.

This position involves assisting in the supervision of technology
services staff and will include establishing work schedules,
evaluations, communication with schools and different employee
groups.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the administration of Windows 2000/2003/2008
domain and messaging infrastructures
Active Directory Group Policy administration (creation,
application, troubleshooting)
Prepare and maintain technical documentation (i.e. Build reports,
Operational procedures, Change Control, recommendation’s, progress
reports)
Participate in operating system builds, upgrades, migrations and
patch management
Ability to mentor and develop the skills of other team members
Additional system administration duties as required
Provide after-hours on call support as required
Install and configure network equipment
Define policies for notification and resolution to events of
managed devices
Installation of maintenance or upgrades to implemented solutions
Knowledge and ability to develop programs as required may be an
asset.
The ability to work collaboratively with department members and
school staff(s).

Hours of work:Eight (8) hours per day, five days per/week
Duties to Commence:As soon as possible after the closing
Work Year Base:Twelve(12) months per year
Commencing Salary:As per Board Policy E16

Qualifications and Attributes
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree/diploma in Computer Science complemented by a minimum of
5-7 years in an operations role administering to Windows 2000/2003/2008
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer MCSE
Proven experience and knowledge of Enterprise Active Directory
Administration, migrations, management and troubleshooting.
Previous experience with an enterprise server and user
environment essential.
Expert knowledge of MS Clustering, TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, LDAP, DHCP
and scripting.
Competence in problem resolution and an understanding of
customer impact and educational needs.
