EASE is not a program, rather a collection of evidence-informed anxiety management and resilience- building classroom strategies for use with students in grades K-7. These stand-alone activities align with B.C. curriculum and are designed to benefit all children by fitting into existing classroom routines and practices. EASE anxiety literacy workshops and classroom strategies were co-created by the Ministry of Children and Family Development and Anxiety Canada – and with a lot of help from educators!
-the benefits of spending time outside -conducting a risk- benefit assessment -building a routine to take your students outdoors -connections to the science curriculum -LOTS of hands-on, nature-based activities

We are looking forward to having a guest presenter from the BCTF and Delta School District, Trevana Spilchen, share insight on creating inclusive schools and a safe environment for all.
This BCTF workshop will help develop an understanding of the risks facing trans, non-binary and gender diverse students, learn protective factors, gain increased familiarity with terminology used by the trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities, and increase awareness of gender identity and gender expression. Best practices for supporting a student through gender transition within the school system will be covered. Although the focus is on trans, non-binary and gender diverse students, gender-inclusive schools help all students to feel safe at school.
Dinner will be provided.
