Teachers on Leave

Laptops and other technology provided to teachers must be submitted to their administrator if they go on a leave.

The administrator will forward the laptop to technology services who will add another account to the laptop for the teacher covering the leave. At the return of the teacher, if they are still assigned to a WWP classroom, the laptop will be returned.

Teachers Leaving WWP

If a teacher is leaving a WWP assignment they are to hand in their laptop to their office on their last day of work. The laptop is then to be sent in to the Technology Services Secretary at the Board Office.

We will then wipe the laptop in preparation for its next assignment.

WWP Policy: Laptops of students that have left the district

If a student leaves the school district, the laptop, extra adapter (if applicable), and backpack (if applicable) must be immediately sent to Technology Services at the board office along with a work order detailing the student name, their bcesis number and the asset tag number of the laptop. They are not to be kept as spares at the school. Missing items are charged to the school.

This is to ensure that we can provide laptops to new students at other schools.

WWP Policy: Student Transfer within SD60

Updated January 19, 2009.

A work order is required from the principal or their designate with the student name, bcesis number, asset tag number, and what school they are transferring to within SD60.

The laptop, and backpack+adapter if applicable, is to be sent to Technology Services, c/o Sharon Irving at the board office with that work order. Make certain that the student was assigned a backpack and adapter before you send them along otherwise the school will be charged for lost inventory. We will then hold this until we receive a work order from the new school asking for a laptop and backpack+adapter for the student. Students that have paid the rental charge at one school do not need to pay it at the new school.

This will enable us to make changes to the inventory to protect the school that the student is leaving, check for damages, re-image if necessary, and reassign the laptop to the inventory of the new school, and send out the laptop to the new school. Laptops remain the responsibility of the school that the inventory points to. If we are not informed of a transfer and the laptop, adapter, or backpack is not returned, the school  is charged.
