About Sabrina Brooks

Sabrina grew up in Surrey, British Columbia. Her high school years were crammed full with the many concert bands, jazz bands, and musicals offered by the school and community. After trying the flute and the tuba, she settled on the trombone and fell in love with it! She set out to become a music and math teacher, and obtained a Bachelor of Education in Music and Mathematics from the University of Victoria, graduating with distinction. Sabrina has recently completed a masters degree in Leadership & Administration through Gonzaga University. Sabrina spent her summers off from university working for the Canadian Forces as a trombone player with the Band of the Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa, ON. Sabrina joined her husband, Joe Brooks, in his energetic hometown of Fort St. John, BC to work as a teacher for School District 60. Sabrina is actively involved around town as a performer, private music instructor and assisting with the district band program. Sabrina runs the adult community band Northern Winds. She has volunteered for the Northern Lights Youth Choir and sung with the North Peace Community Choir. She is currently a board member of the North Peace Cultural Society. Her dream is to share the joy of making music with as many people in as many ways as she possibly can!
