Interested in action research to support student development within your school, classrooms or program? Come join the 2017-18 NOII/AESN group. Three sessions over the year are offered to review the Spirals of Inquiry, support project development and final presentations. Sessions will be facilitated by Kim Boettcher.

First Meeting will be held on December 6th from 4:00-6:30 pm in the DDC.
● Sessions 2 & 3 will be set up for spring of 2018.

Session Description

Every school should be a model home, a complete community actively developing future compassionate citizens capable of creating, leading and contributing to the kind of democratic communities – in which we all long to live.”

This 8-module in-depth basic training will be presented over 5 days and is intended for teachers, administrators and all support staff.

While the session will be geared for middle school age students, the Tribes process is used with all grades.

Teachers using this approach spend far less time managing inappropriate behavior and more time facilitating learning.

Visible Learning for Mathematics K-12 – SERIES

Rich tasks, collaborative work, number talks, problem-based learning, direct instruction…with so many possible approaches, how do we know which ones work the best? Bi-monthly we will work with John Hattie’s book to design high-impact instruction and try them out in our classrooms so all students demonstrate more than a year’s worth of mathematics learning for a year spent in school.
