Bert Bowes Middle School students toured Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek to find out more about STEM and Trades career paths. They enjoyed participating in hands-on science activities as well as welding and cooking. In addition, the students were able to see aircrafts up close and learn more about educational opportunities such as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and also had fun visiting the mechanics and carpentry shops. While visiting the college, students discovered that post-secondary courses and programs can be taken as dual credit options in their Grade 12 year and learned how important math is when it comes to choosing Trades and STEM career options.

The trip was possible due to the support of Northern Lights College, Let’s Talk Science, SD 60 Careers, and Bert Bowes Middle School.
