While we have several staff members participating in the Movember fundraiser here is a story from Bert Bowes about one of our staff with a legendary moustache: This November, a teacher with a legendary moustache shaved it off for cancer research. Article below from teacher Julie Ludwinowski at Prespatou School: Many of us have read and or participated in Bluey Day in order to help raise money for cancer research while supporting our local Fort St. John Hospital. Normally, people shave their head [...] Duncan Cran is participating in the Canadian Geographic Classroom Energy Diet Challenge. The Challenge runs from February 6 – March 30, 2012. In this contest classrooms are trying to complete 25 Energy Challenges. The purpose of the Challenge is to think about Energy and how to reduce Energy use. The goal of this challenge [...] The Taylor Leadership students challenged all Taylor Tigers’ House Teams, to give to those less fortunate by collecting Canadian Tire Money and items for local food hampers during the month of December. All together they collected $263.00 Canadian Tire Money, which was used to purchase toys, and over 150 food hamper items! Another example of School District 60 students [...] Students and Staff at Baldonnel Elementary have put together 150 shoeboxes full of supplies and gifts for Operation Christmas Child. A very impressive contribution considering there are only 124 students at Baldonnel! The shoeboxes will be sent to less fortunate children overseas.
