]]> On March 14th visit the North Peace Cultural Centre to catch The Big Bad Musical, performed by the students of Bert Bowes Middle School.

The Big Bad Wolf is being taken to court by the Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs and the Shepherd and the Boy Who Cried Wolf. With the Evil Step Mother defending the accused and the Fairy God Mother representing the plaintiffs, this quirky musical comedy is fun for all ages. Come be a part of the show, as our jury you will decide the outcome of the show.

The matinee is at 1pm followed by an evening show at 6pm.
Tickets cost 12$ for an adult, 8$ for a student, 5$ for a child under 12
You can purchase tickets at the Cultural Centre or online at http://www.npcc.bc.ca/

There will also be school shows on March 12th. All Teachers in the district are invited to bring their classes at 10 am or 1 pm.

Come and join Dr. Kearney’s Musical Theatre class and set sail with this classic comedy that boasts one of the most famous patter songs in musical theatre history. The wit and whimsy of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic score is suffused with a modern sensibility in The Pirates Of Penzance JR: a swashbuckling musical journey! Set on the rocky coast of Cornwall, England, The Pirates Of Penzance JR. begins with a group of pirates who are celebrating the birthday of one of their own, Frederic, who has reached his twenty-first year. Finally having served the full length of his required time with the pirates, he decides to strike off on his own and become an upstanding citizen – which may even mean bringing the pirates to justice. This turns out to be a tricky prospect indeed, especially when Frederic’s freedom is called into question!

This show is appropriate for all ages. School shows are January 15th and 16th at 10am. Tickets are $3. To book your tickets for these shows, please contact Katie Matthews at kmatthews@prn.bc.ca with a total number of tickets, including any adults.

]]> It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations, and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain Troy Bolton discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

This show is appropriate for all ages. The school shows run Wednesday January 15th, Thursday January 16th, and Friday January 17th at 9:30am. Tickets are $5 per person. Runtime is approximately 2 hours.
